Newfoundland Memorial Park, Beaumont Hamel

This preserved battlefield site is a must for any visitors to the Somme.  The helpful young Canadian staff are welcoming and the free leaflet is a good guide to understanding the events for the Newfoundlanders on 1st July 1916.  My photos from 2018 don’t do justice to a place that is a huge credit to Canada and a poingant place for the world.
