This film is thought to have been made in Heaton Park, Manchester in early 1915. It shows the 1st and 2nd (Poss. 3rd) City Battalions training in Heaton Park before they left for Belton Park.
It’s harrowing to remember that about one quarter of these men did not return from France and many of the remainder were wounded.
